Dolphin Tale warmed hearts and moved many to tears, and now Entertainment Tonight is on the set of the film's equally sentimental sequel. "Dolphin Tale 2 explores relationships the first one didn't," said star Harry Connick Jr. "It's just a sweet, well-thought-out movie that all generations can enjoy."
The original movie made Winter the dolphin a symbol of hope by telling her story of rehabilitation, thanks to the invention of a groundbreaking prosthetic tail. In Dolphin Tale 2, inspired by true events, the team that originally saved Winter comes back to find her a new life companion after her surrogate mother passes away.
Winter's story in the first film moved so many that her home, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida, has doubled its size.
Dolphin Tale 2 will be in theaters on September 12.
